If your mail lives in Outlook or Exchange Online, this integration lets your Brain read it: the stakeholder who joined a thread, the date that moved, the agreement confirmed in writing.

What it adds to your Brain

Fivo reads the messages in your Outlook mailbox and groups them by conversation, so a thread becomes one episode with context. From each it extracts the people involved, what was agreed, what is pending and when. Quoted replies and signatures are stripped, and every fact keeps a link back to the message in Outlook.

Before you start

You need the Microsoft account whose mailbox you want to connect. Work or school accounts and personal Microsoft accounts both work for mail. Any Fivo member can connect their own mailbox; there is no scope to choose because email is always personal.

When you click Connect, Microsoft asks you to approve what Fivo requests. In plain words:

  • Read your basic profile, to know which account connected.
  • Read your mail. Fivo cannot send, delete or modify messages.
  • Keep access without asking you to sign in again each time.

Step by step

  1. Open Integrations in app.fivo.ai and find Outlook Mail under Email.
  2. Click Connect. Microsoft's sign-in page opens. Sign in and accept the permissions.
  3. You are sent back to Fivo. There is nothing to pick: your mailbox is the source, and Fivo fills in its address for you.

What happens next

Fivo reads your recent history first, oldest to newest within the reading window, and shows progress in the AI Brain view.

Once connected, Fivo subscribes to changes in your mailbox, so new and updated messages are delivered as they arrive rather than waiting for the next scheduled read. Fivo renews that subscription on its own; you do not need to do anything to keep it alive.

Who sees what: only you. When you ask a question in the organization graph, Fivo combines it with your personal graph, so facts from your inbox appear next to the team's without becoming visible to anyone else. See Permissions: what your Brain can see.

Disconnect

Open Integrations, select Outlook Mail and click Disconnect. Fivo removes the stored credentials, stops the mailbox subscription and stops reading. You can also remove Fivo from your Microsoft account's app permissions; Fivo then marks the source as needing to be reconnected.

Troubleshooting

  • The source says it needs to be reconnected. Microsoft expired or revoked the token, for example after a password change or an admin policy change. Reconnect from Integrations.
  • New emails take long to appear. Live delivery depends on Microsoft's notifications. If they stop, the regular scheduled read still catches up. Reconnecting recreates the subscription.
  • Microsoft asked for admin approval. Your tenant requires admin consent for new apps. Ask your Microsoft admin to approve Fivo.
  • Outlook calendar is not what this connects. Calendar is a separate connection. See Connect your calendar.
