For Microsoft shops, Teams chat is where the day happens. This integration reads the chats you choose and can post your meeting summaries and tasks back into one of them.
What it adds to your Brain
Fivo reads the one-to-one and group chats you pick and turns them into facts: decisions, commitments, who is involved in what. Only messages written by people count. System events, posts from apps and deleted messages are skipped, and mentions are resolved to the people they name.
A chat's members lend their email addresses to the messages, so the same colleague is recognised across Teams, email and meetings.
In the other direction, Fivo can post a meeting summary and the meeting's tasks into the chat you choose as soon as a meeting ends.
Before you start
You need a Microsoft work or school account. Personal Microsoft accounts (outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com) can sign in, but Microsoft does not let them expose Teams chats, so such a connection cannot read, list or post anything. Fivo tells you this right after connecting.
Only the organization owner or an Admin can connect Teams with organization scope. See Connect your tools.
When you click Connect, Microsoft asks you to approve what Fivo requests. In plain words:
- Read your basic profile, to know which account connected.
- Read your chats, their messages and their members.
- Send chat messages, used only to post the summaries and tasks you set up.
- Keep access without asking you to sign in again each time.
Step by step
- Open Integrations in app.fivo.ai and find Microsoft Teams.
- Click Connect. Microsoft's sign-in page opens. Sign in with your work or school account and accept the permissions.
- Back in Fivo, pick the Chat or chats that feed your graph. One-to-one chats are listed under the other person's name; group chats under their topic.
- To receive summaries in Teams, choose the chat where summaries and tasks will be posted, and turn on instant report delivery for your own meetings, for meetings you are invited to, or both.
What happens next
Fivo reads each chosen chat, most recently changed messages first, until it has covered the reading window. Microsoft sometimes asks apps to slow down on busy tenants; when that happens Fivo waits and resumes by itself. Progress per chat is visible in the AI Brain view.
Teams does not currently push chat changes to Fivo, so new messages arrive when Fivo re-reads the chat on its regular schedule.
Who sees what: Teams reports a chat's members, so with organization scope a chat's facts are visible to the people in that chat. With personal scope, only you see them. See Permissions: what your Brain can see.
Disconnect
Open Integrations, select Microsoft Teams and click Disconnect. Fivo removes the stored credentials and stops reading chats and posting summaries. To stop reading one chat while keeping the connection, use Remove from graph on that source in the AI Brain view.
Troubleshooting
- "Personal Microsoft accounts don't give access to Teams chats." Disconnect and connect again with a work or school account.
- The chat picker is short or missing recent chats. Fivo lists chats ordered by recent activity; very long lists are cut. Open the AI Brain view, which walks the full list.
- Teams says Fivo needs to be reconnected. The token expired or an admin revoked the app. Click Reconnect in Integrations.
- Summaries are not posted. Check that a chat is chosen and that instant report delivery is on for the relevant kind of meeting.
