Google Meet needs no connector of its own. Fivo's meeting assistant joins the call like any other participant, records it and writes a report. This article covers how to get it into your Meet calls.
What it adds to your Brain
Every Meet call the assistant joins becomes a report with a transcript, the recording with timestamps, an AI summary, chapters, tasks and action items, and the list of participants. You can chat with the report to ask what was decided or who said what.
Each report also becomes a document in your graph. Fivo extracts the people who attended, the decisions taken, the commitments made and the topics raised, and links them to the companies and projects they concern. A promise made on the call becomes a commitment with an owner, a date and the report as its source. See Meeting reports.
Before you start
There are two ways to bring the assistant into a Meet call, and they need different things:
- Through your calendar: connect your Google Calendar (or Outlook, if your Meet links live there) in Integrations. The assistant reads the Meet link from the event. See Connect your calendar.
- By link: nothing to connect. You paste the Meet link on Home.
The assistant joins as a visible participant and announces itself on the call. If the meeting host has Meet set to admit external participants manually, someone on the call has to let it in.
Step by step
To join automatically:
- Open Integrations in app.fivo.ai and connect Google Calendar. On Google's consent screen, tick every box so Fivo gets the calendar permission.
- Choose the join mode. You can change it in Account Settings > Meeting Preferences > Meetings assistant or in Home > Upcoming events > Settings. The options are: join all calls (recommended), join only meetings you created, or join manual meetings only.
- Your upcoming events appear on Home. The assistant joins each Meet call that matches your mode.
To join one call by hand:
- On Home, use Add link and paste the Google Meet URL.
- The assistant joins that call. If the meeting has not started yet, it joins when it does.
What happens next
After the call, Fivo processes the recording and the report appears in Fivo. Tasks detected in the call show both inside the report and on Home. If you set up email recaps in Settings > Recap Settings, a summary is emailed to the recipients you chose: only you, everyone on the invite, or nobody.
Who sees the report: if the assistant joined through your calendar, every participant of the event gets access by default. If you added the link by hand, only you do. You can change access from the report page, and you can add the report to a space so a whole team sees it. Access to the report is also access to its facts in the graph. See Permissions: what your Brain can see.
Disconnect
To stop the assistant from joining your Meet calls, either set the join mode to manual (recommended) in Meeting Preferences, or disconnect the calendar in Integrations. Disconnecting the calendar also removes your upcoming events from Home.
Troubleshooting
- The assistant did not join a scheduled call. Check that the event is in a connected calendar and that it matches your join mode. "Only meetings you created" skips calls you were invited to.
- The assistant is waiting to be admitted. Meet asked the host to admit it. Someone on the call has to let it in.
- A call was recorded that you did not want recorded. Switch the join mode to manual, or remove the event's Meet link from the calendar before it starts.
- No upcoming events on Home. Your calendar is not connected or needs reconnecting. Go to Integrations.
