Google Docs is where many reports end up anyway. This integration writes them there for you, and lets you hand Fivo the documents you want it to read.

What it adds to your Brain

This connection works mainly outward: after a meeting, the report can be saved as a new Google Doc in the Drive folder you choose. The document carries the report sections as formatted text.

It also lets you bring documents in. From the app you can choose Google Docs for Fivo to read. Each chosen document is imported and analysed like a document you uploaded to Fivo, so it gets its own report and feeds your graph through it. Only Google Docs files can be imported through this connection; for other file types use Google Drive.

Example question your AI can then answer: "Summarize the product requirements doc we imported and list the open questions in it."

Before you start

  • A Google account. Fivo signs in through Google's standard consent page.
  • Fivo asks only for the permission to see and manage files it created or that you open with it. It does not get access to your whole Drive.

Step by step

  1. Open Integrations in app.fivo.ai and find Google Docs.
  2. Click Connect. Google opens its consent page. You approve your email address and the per-file Drive permission described above.
  3. Back in Fivo, the connection is confirmed. Fivo creates a Fivo folder in your Drive and uses it as the default destination.
  4. Optionally, in the integration's Configuration, change the Folder where documents will be created. Fivo lists the folders it has access to.
  5. To read documents, choose the Google Docs you want Fivo to read from the app. Each one is imported as a document and analysed.

What happens next

Sharing a report creates a Google Doc named after the report, in the chosen folder, owned by your Google account.

An imported document is downloaded once, converted and analysed. It shows up as a document in Fivo with its own report, and that report feeds your graph like any other. Fivo does not watch the Google Doc afterwards: if you change it in Google Docs, refresh the import from the app so Fivo reads the new version.

Who sees an imported document follows the same rules as any report in Fivo: you, the people you share it with, and the members of the space you imported it into if you chose one. See Permissions: what your Brain can see.

Disconnect

Open Integrations, select Google Docs and click Disconnect. Reports stop being saved to Drive, and you can no longer choose new files. Documents already imported stay in Fivo.

Troubleshooting

  • "Your Google connection expired." Google tokens can stop working. Click Reconnect in the app, then refresh the file or choose it again.
  • The folder you want is not listed. Fivo can only see folders it created or that you opened with it, because of the limited Drive permission. Use the Fivo folder or create one from Fivo.
  • An import failed with "unsupported type". Through Google Docs only Google Docs files can be imported. Use the Google Drive connection for PDFs, Slides, Word files, audio or video.
  • The import shows "failed". Fivo retries a failed download a few times before giving up. If it keeps failing, check that the file still exists and that you can open it in Google Docs.
