Connect Google Drive

Export your meeting reports as files to Google Drive, and bring the Drive files you choose into your Brain as documents.

Google Drive is a destination and a source at once: Fivo can file your meeting reports there, and you can pick documents, recordings and decks from Drive for Fivo to read.

What it adds to your Brain

Outward, Fivo saves each shared meeting report as a Markdown file (a .md file named after the report) in the Drive folder you choose.

Inward, you choose files for Fivo to read. Each chosen file is imported and analysed like a file you uploaded to Fivo: text documents get a document report, audio and video get a meeting-style report. Those reports feed your graph. Supported types are Google Docs, Google Slides, PDF, Word documents, plain text and Markdown files, common audio formats (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG) and video (MP4, WebM, MOV).

Example question your AI can then answer: "What was decided in the workshop video I imported from Drive?"

Before you start

  • A Google account. Fivo signs in through Google's standard consent page.
  • Fivo asks for the permission to see and manage files it created or that you open with it, plus your email address. It never sees the rest of your Drive.

Step by step

  1. Open Integrations in app.fivo.ai and find Google Drive.
  2. Click Connect. Google opens its consent page. Approve the permissions.
  3. Back in Fivo, the connection is confirmed. Fivo creates a Fivo folder in your Drive and uses it as the default destination.
  4. Optionally, in the integration's Configuration, change the Folder where report files are uploaded.
  5. To read files, choose them from the app. Each file is imported, converted if needed, and analysed. You can import a batch of files at once.

What happens next

Sharing a report uploads a Markdown file to the chosen folder, owned by your Google account.

An imported file is downloaded once. Google Docs and Slides are exported (to Word and PDF respectively), other files are read as they are, and all of them go through Fivo's usual analysis. The resulting document appears in Fivo with its status, from importing and analysing to ready. Fivo does not watch the file afterwards: if it changes in Drive, refresh the import from the app.

Who sees an imported file follows the rules of any Fivo report: you, whoever you share it with, and the members of the space you imported into if you chose one. See Permissions: what your Brain can see.

Disconnect

Open Integrations, select Google Drive and click Disconnect. Reports stop being uploaded, and you can no longer choose new files. Files already imported stay in Fivo as documents.

Troubleshooting

  • "Your Google connection expired. Reconnect it and refresh the file." Click Reconnect, then refresh or choose the file again.
  • The folder you want is not listed. The limited Drive permission only shows folders Fivo created or that you opened with it. Use the Fivo folder or create one from Fivo.
  • An import failed with "unsupported type". Check the list of supported types above. Spreadsheets, for example, are not supported.
  • An import shows "not found". The file was deleted or you lost access to it in Drive. Restore it or choose another file.
  • The import stays in "importing". Downloads are retried; a stalled import is queued again automatically. If it never finishes, try the import again.
