Claude can read your Fivo Brain through MCP. After this tutorial, you can ask Claude "what did we promise Acme?" and it will answer from your meetings, email and tools, with sources, without you pasting anything.
What you need
- A Fivo account on a paid plan or in its 14-day trial. MCP is a paid feature.
- A Brain with at least one source read, so there is something to ask about. See Set up Fivo in 15 minutes.
- Claude on the web, desktop or mobile. Claude Code is covered at the end.
1. Copy your MCP server URL
In app.fivo.ai, open Settings and then MCP. Copy the MCP server URL shown at the top. This page also has a guide for each client; the Claude guide mirrors the steps below.
2. Add a custom connector in Claude
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose "Add custom connector".
Name it Fivo and paste the MCP server URL. Leave the OAuth Client ID and Client Secret fields empty. Claude registers itself with Fivo automatically; there is nothing to copy from Fivo into Claude.
Click Add.
3. Connect and approve
Click Connect next to the new connector. A Fivo page opens in your browser. Check three things on it:
- The app asking for access is Claude.
- The address it returns to belongs to Claude.
- The permissions are read-only: Brain, reports, tasks, calendar and organization members.
Click Allow. You are returned to Claude and the connector shows as connected.
4. Turn Fivo on in a chat
Start a new conversation and make sure the Fivo connector is enabled for it (the tools menu in the composer). Claude now has Fivo's tools: search, fetch, briefs, commitments, activity, meeting preparation, reports, tasks, calendar and members.
5. Ask something concrete
Try these, adapting the names to your company:
- "Search Fivo for what we know about Acme."
- "What did I commit to this week?"
- "Give me a brief on Marta Ortega."
- "Prepare me for my next meeting."
Claude calls the right Fivo tool, gets facts with dates and sources, and answers. Ask it to cite sources and each line will link to the report, message or record it came from. Click a link to open the original.
6. Try a ready-made prompt
Fivo publishes MCP prompts that Claude can use: meeting prep, weekly digest, account review, one-on-one and decision log. Pick one from the prompts menu, give it the person or event, and Claude runs the full sequence of questions for you.
7. Check status when an answer looks empty
If Claude says there is nothing, ask it to check the Brain status. Fivo tells it whether a graph is still building, frozen or pending payment, and lists the sources it cannot read. An empty answer during the first build usually means "not yet", not "never happened".
8. For a team on Claude Team or Enterprise
An owner adds the Fivo connector once in Claude's organization settings. Each member then connects with their own Fivo account and sees only what their permissions allow. There is no shared credential and nothing to distribute.
Claude Code
Add Fivo as an HTTP MCP server using the MCP server URL from your Fivo settings. Claude Code opens your browser for the same approval page, and the tools appear in your session. Use it to ask about the ticket you are implementing, who requested it and what was decided.
Managing the connection
The MCP page in Fivo lists connected apps and when each last read your graph. The AI Brain view shows how many AIs are reading it. To disconnect Claude, remove it there or in Claude's connectors; it stops on the next request.
What's next
- Questions your AI can answer for more ideas.
- Build a 360º brief of an account to use Claude with Fivo before a client call.
- Connect ChatGPT or Cursor the same way from the MCP page; the only difference is where you paste the URL.
